I had such an amazing morning kicking off graduation portrait season with one of my dearest friends. I’ve actually known Stephanie since we were 8 or 9? We’ve been going to the same school since 6th grade, for over the past decade. I can’t believe she’s not going to be around next year, but I have no doubt we’ll still be in touch. I’m incredibly proud that she’s going off to Pharmacy School next year!!
When we think grad session, or really any portrait session, we often imagine bright, sunny skies or warm sunsets – but that’s not always the case! Cloudy weather photographs beautifully, too, which was exactly what Stephanie was looking for. We actually planned for a cloudy day so we could do something a little bit different. Can you tell I’m a fan of minimalism?
This is not my typical graduation session – we skipped a lot of classic spots around the Rotunda and the Lawn to keep it simple. I love how much graduation sessions can be tailored to each person even though we’re shooting around the same areas around the University of Virginia. Below are highlights from our session:
