Having photographed 300+ weddings, I’m familiar with most venues in the area. So if you have any questions about any particular venue, feel free to send me a message.

Best Outdoor Wedding Venues in Charlottesville
My favorite wedding venues:
- Early Mountain Vineyards
Take note, foodie couples – you can’t go wrong with any of the options offered by the talented chefs and catering team at Early Mountain. The gardens and mountain backdrop are beautiful for outdoor ceremonies. Equally stunning is the architecture of its reception hall (pictured below), which boasts high ceilings and a grand fireplace on each end of the room. Up to 200 guests are permitted. - Castle Hill Cider
With a capacity of 350 people, there’s lots of room both inside and out of the Cidery Barn. The entire building has heat and AC so you won’t have to worry about the weather. Surrounding the barn are beautiful rolling hills, orchards, and a lake. There are two outdoor ceremony locations: the Orchard and Linden Grove. This venue is experienced with Indian and South Asian weddings. - Pippin Hill
Often recognized as a top wedding venue in the US, Pippin Hill is a culinary vineyard known for its gorgeous views, delicious food, and award-winning wines. The space was thoughtfully designed by its owner, a former wedding planner, so your day will flow easily. The lawn space for the ceremony is just as lovely as the granary where the reception is held. This venue is experienced with Indian and South Asian weddings and can accommodate up to 250/200 guests (ceremony/reception). - Bramblewood Estate
Enjoy a serene escape into nature without giving up a 5 star experience. Bramblewood Estate is a thoughtfully space offering a five star retreat experience in the heart of Keswick. Exclusive use of the property is available for your entire wedding weekend (Fri-Sun). This venue accommodates up to 150 guests. - Keswick Vineyards
Keswick Vineyards, located just east of Charlottesville, is a popular vineyard venue known for its natural beauty and elegant architecture. It’s perfect for couples who want to celebrate outdoors all day and night. Choose from the vineyards, the oak tree, and the estate for your ceremony backdrop, and then enjoy your evening under the spacious Aurora Tent. This venue can accommodate up to 200 guests. - Keswick Hall
Couples looking for the best luxury wedding experience available can find it all at Keswick Hall. This recently renovated five star hotel and resort shows off a unique blend of old-world elegance and modern luxury as well as picturesque views. Enjoy your weekend’s events in the landscaped gardens or Grand Ballroom, and know that every detail will be taken care of for you. This venue can accommodate up to 400 guests. - The Clifton
Stay the night or the entire weekend at the historic yet modern Clifton. This venue makes wedding planning easy with accommodations (for up to 40 people), ceremony site, and tented reception all in one place, as well as in-house catering. Located just 10 minutes outside of the city, it’s perfect for couples who want to enjoy a convenient, cozy getaway. This venue can accommodate up to 250 guests in its spacious tent. - Market at Grelen
There’s so much versatility at the Market at Grelen. There are 4 outdoor ceremony options: Berry Field, Half Moon Garden, The Greenhouse, and Bloomfield. It’s even more magical at night under the lights of the Orchard Overlook tent, which can hold up to 250 guests. You can watch the sky change from sunset into dusk through the clear panels. - Mount Ida
Another especially versatile venue is Mount Ida, which actually is actually a collection of 3 venues: The Lodge, Water’s Edge, and The Event Barn, my favorite. They have a pair of very sweet and friendly horses (though they will totally try to eat your bouquet) at the adjacent field. The lakeside gazebo (pictured above) is an elegant backdrop to any ceremony, and the temperature-controlled barn has lots of room to dance the night away. Up to 300 guests can celebrate together in The Event Barn. - Hazy Mountain Vineyard
Hazy Mountain Vineyards, nestled in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, offers a breathtaking setting for weddings. With stunning vineyard views and a charming mountain backdrop, it’s perfect for both outdoor ceremonies and indoor receptions. The venue features a spacious tasting room with floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This venue can accommodate up to 200 people, including 14 at the on-site villa. - Montfair Resort Farm
I love the rustic charm and beautiful scenery at Montfair. Enjoy a mountain backdrop to your ceremony, as well as indoor, outdoor, and tented spaces for your reception. This venue is perfect for couples who love nature and want to get away with their family and friends. There are 10 cottages to choose from so everyone can stay in one place for the weekend or even spend the whole week together. For wedding day, this venue can accommodate up to 200 people.
