- Mount Ida
Another especially versatile venue is Mount Ida, which actually is actually a collection of 3 venues: The Lodge, Water’s Edge, and The Event Barn, my favorite. They have a pair of very sweet and friendly horses (though they will totally try to eat your bouquet) at the adjacent field. The lakeside gazebo (pictured above) is an elegant backdrop to any ceremony, and the temperature-controlled barn has lots of room to dance the night away. Up to 300 guests can celebrate together in The Event Barn.

Frequently asked questions
Most couples book their venue 12-18 months in advance to get their top choice of popular dates. Our peak months are May-June and September-October. You can also plan a wedding on shorter time frames such as 6 months no problem if you’re flexible with your date. Winter and weekday dates offer more flexibility and lower costs.
Pricing varies based on factors such as the season, guest count, and included amenities. Most venues in the Charlottesville area begin at $8000-$18000 during peak seasons. Some venues may begin in the $4000-$8000 range during off-peak dates and weekdays, while luxury estates and resorts typically begin at $18,000-$35,000+.
We know you’ll love your venue in the sun, but be sure to review rain plan options and solutions for other inclement weather (wind, heat, snow), too. Many of our venues have noise ordinances that will influence the end time of your events. Be sure to account for transportation and parking logistics and backup tent requirements.
I hope this list gives you a helpful start to your venue search. I know this exciting step in the wedding planning process can be daunting, but you’ll know when you’ve found the perfect one.
