Katey and Nick’s downtown fall Canal Walk engagement session was perfect for showing off their fun-loving personalities! As it’s been increasingly common for my couples nowadays, Katey and Nick met online. The couple shared on their wedding website that when they met, Nick was newer to the online dating scene, while Katey was familiar with online dating and had almost lost hope completely. But once they swiped right, they said the rest just felt “so natural”.
The couple’s first date was at a bowling alley. After just one game, they knew it was right. Over the next few weeks they spent lots of time together, including spending time at 23rd & Main Taproom & Kitchen. Nick later proposed to Katey at Libby Hill Park at the same spot of their second date!
For their engagement portraits, we started their fall Canal walk engagement session off at Richbrau Brewery. Sharing a round of beers was the perfect way to ease the nerves and kick off their session, in addition to showcasing their shared love of breweries. Then we visited 23rd & Main Taproom & Kitchen as a nod to this part of their relationship. Plus it was so fun to feature the big mural in front of the restaurant!
Throughout their Richmond Canal Walk engagement session, I loved how easily Katey and Nick laughed around each other. They were all smiles the entire time! While all the spots we went to were great for showing off local vibes, the last location really showcased Richmond’s gorgeous fall landscape. The Canal Walk’s lush green grass, flowers, and colorful leaves were so gorgeous!
