Kate and Claire’s Four Seasons DC wedding was nothing short of magical! The colorful floral embroidery of Kate’s Sassi Holford Iris dress led to a loose “romantic English garden” theme. The florist, Suzanne Codi, and planner, Paris Serpico, ran with the vision and brought two gorgeous tableaus to life.
The morning of their wedding day, Kate recalls feeling nervous and excited. She even woke Claire up at 6 in the morning with her excitement. Luckily, Claire planned a couples’ massage that morning, which helped calm a lot of nerves before the day began.
Continuing in that theme, couple opted for a very casual and authentic first look. Once they were both ready, Claire simply knocked on the door of Claire’s hotel room and walked in! I loved capturing the excitement on their faces seeing one another in their wedding attire.
Our fashionable brides coordinated the details of their attire so perfectly. Kate completed her look with a timeless pearl necklace borrowed from her mother and a veil from Toni Federici. Claire wore a custom suit from Bindle and Keep, which specializes in suits for all bodies and was tailored to perfection. She completed the look with a floral tie from BeauTieUK and classic brown leather shoes from Bally.
Knowing that they would be thrilled as long as they got to celebrate their micro-wedding with their closest friends and family, the couple gave their planner total freedom to execute her creative vision. You can feel the joy, awe, and excitement in their faces at their ceremony and reception room reveals!
Following their Dumbarton Conservatory wedding ceremony, the couple enjoyed spending time with everyone during cocktail hour in the adjacent room while the design team got the room ready for reception. The couple described the reveals as seeing “a magical forest of white blooms and greenery for the ceremony and an elaborate colored tablescape complete with antique mis-matched china, candlesticks and vases for dinner.” The reveals were emotional moments for the talented design team, too! They pulled off two incredible transformations of the Dumbarton Conservatory, and the couple couldn’t be happier.
Kate and Claire spent the rest of their Four Seasons DC wedding enjoying dinner and live music with their guests. We had 5 toasts throughout the reception, as so many people in attendance had wonderful memories to share about the couple and well wishes. Their micro-wedding was absolutely the perfect celebration of their union for our two brides. Congratulations again to the happy couple!
