A Kennedy Center Engagement Session was perfect for DC couple Hallie & Alex, who met at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Capitol Hill. In their session filled with iconic DC locations, our second location was the National Mall. Our original plan was Constitution Gardens. But due to the surprise fencing (aka typical DC), we decided to simply relax in another area of greenery on the Mall. We set-up a picnic and popped some bubbly to celebrate their engagement. This also gave us the opportunity to incorporate their weekly pastime, reading the New Yorker to each other.
Lastly, we went over to the Lincoln Memorial – a beautiful and iconic engagement session location for any DC couple. I love the mix of iconic DC to-dos and personal touches they included in their session! Plus, Alex found out he loves wearing burgundy so much he changed his wedding jacket to burgundy. Definitely a fun win to discover at the engagement session, and I can’t wait to see it at the wedding!
As foodie couples go, Hallie and Alex are pretty die-hard foodies. A favorite pastime for these two is going on ‘food-ventures’. They love exploring new restaurants in their neighborhood and all around DC. For a special date night out, the couple’s go-to is El Sol DC, which has incredible authentic Mexican cuisine. They also enjoy staying in and cooking at home, such as watching movies while sharing Hallie’s homemade browned-butter popcorn. When asked to use one word to describe each other, Alex described Hallie as gregarious, saying she is quite the social butterfly! Hallie describes Alex as one of the most loving people she has ever met.
In our conversations ahead of their wedding day, I’ve noticed Hallie and Alex both share a deep love for family. With the help of their incredible event planning team, Sugar Taylor Co., they have an entire weekend of events set-up for their guests! They’re getting married this coming September, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them at Castle Hill Cider soon!
