The Branch Museum was the perfect backdrop for the Hindu ceremony and final day of this traditional Indian Wedding in Richmond. Over 200 guests came together to celebrate Tiffany and Mayand. The week was a vibrant and joyful celebration of love, family, and culture.
Multicultural weddings like Tiffany and Mayand’s are no small feat. They require patience, careful planning and a dedicated team to handle all the moving pieces and high guest count. We were in great hands being led by the talented Anne Michelle of The Hive Wedding Collective for planning and design. Since our couple was navigating their final year of medical school and starting residency, they took a relaxed timeline of two years to work with Anne Michelle. It was well worth the wait and came together beautifully.
Though brides are not part of the baraat, Tiffany’s one request for the day was to be able to watch the baraat and see her groom on the horse. The staff at the Branch Museum helped us open the windows to make sure Tiffany could easily see outside. Her face lit up with joy and excitement waving at everyone, especially her groom, out the window. The Museum is on Monument Ave, a main street in Richmond, so we drew the attention of many people in the area as the baraat went around the block. Between the iconic location in the city and the alignment of the bridal suite to the street, the Branch Museum is perfect for hosting traditional Indian weddings in Richmond.
The real design showstopper of the day was the mandap designed by the incredible florists at Olivera Floral Design. Lush florals in reds, pinks, and purples gave us a bold ombre across the structure. In contrast, we saw a much softer palette of rust orange and white at their Main Street Station reception. The candlelit-focused design gave us a beautiful backdrop for a relaxing evening with family and friends.
I always love seeing modern designs at Indian weddings. As a Virginia wedding photographer, it’s always inspiring to see the way couples blend their personalities with tradition. For any couple planning a Richmond Indian wedding, I highly recommend the venues and wonderful vendor team below.
