Dana and Anthony’s spring Dover Hall wedding was a beautiful celebration of families coming together. The estate’s natural grandeur was the perfect backdrop for the burgundy and blue theme of their wedding. After a postponement from their original fall 2020 date extended their engagement to 3 years, the couple had plenty of time to work with Kerri at Elle Loren & Co to create their dream wedding.
Dover Hall is one of the most popular and elegant luxury wedding venues in not only Richmond but Virginia overall. It’s hard to relay how impressive Dover Hall is if you haven’t been there in person. The house itself is over 38,000 square feet and was once the home for the Pryor family. The couple dreamed up the home for them and their son to have their own slice of the English countryside in Virginia. About 90% of their original furnishings, which were sourced from throughout Europe, remained after it transitioned to a private venue in 2014.
Dana got ready with her wedding party attendants in the spacious Queen Elizabeth Suite, while Anthony got ready with their daughter Olivia and his groomsmen in the Billiards Rooms. Having done their maternity session last spring, it was so wonderful to finally meet Liv! After they got ready, the couple shared a private first look with each other, and then joined in by Liv. Their pandemic baby was such a sweet part of their wedding, and she definitely stole the show throughout the day.
Their Dover Hall wedding ceremony was at the Reflecting Pool. This unique ceremony spot features the couple and wedding party up on a terrace. Guests are seated on each side of the pool, which runs down the middle of the space. Following the ceremony, the cocktail hour gave guests an opportunity to explore the first floor of the estate as well as the Blue Stone Terrace.
Their 1pm ceremony meant the couple could enjoy an extended reception experience. Dana and Anthony’s Ballroom Dover Hall Reception started with romantic first dances and heartfelt parent dances and toasts. After dinner, we still had 4 hours to dance the night away and step out for sunset portraits as well as a creative night portrait session. We ended the night with a surprise fireworks exit. I have no doubt Dana & Anthony’s wedding will be a party to remember for them and their guests!
