This September, Alexxis and Chris tied the knot at their Early Mountain Vineyards wedding. We’re definitely known for the beauty and charm of our vineyards, and it’s not hard to see why! Early Mountain’s rolling hills and stunning open mountain views make for the perfect romantic backdrop for any celebration. Plus their staff takes amazing care of you!
Rising to the challenge of planning a COVID wedding, Alexxis and Chris mindfully narrowed down their guest list to help with social distancing. They provided masks and hand sanitizer to all of their guests, which has quickly become the new norm for COVID weddings.
At a simple yet elegant indoor ceremony, the couple wrote their own vows. I especially loved hearing Chris talk about how he first knew he loved Alexxis: it was in the joy she had showing off a new pair of shoes she was excited about. And Alexxis sweetly promised to share her life (and her coffee) with Chris.
Right after the ceremony, we snuck out with Alexxis and Chris to create some beautiful portraits together. The sunset was so incredibly colorful, it felt like it was painted!
At the reception, friends and family told stories of how they watched this couple’s relationship blossom. Alexxis’ father shared a heartwarming story of how he never believed anyone was good enough for her until she met Chris. One of her sisters, Ariel, told the story of the beginning of their relationship:
“They went on their first date just before Christmas 2017. She flew to Hawaii to spend the holiday with us. We were in the middle of paradise, and Alexxis literally would not stop looking at her phone and talking about Chris!”
A personal detail Chris was incredibly proud of was the cake stand. He actually made it himself! The gorgeous wooden box was made to be extra sturdy so it’d support the towering cake designed by Louisa’s Homemades. Side note – I’m proud to note their cake made it to the final 3 by popular vote in Louisa Homemades’s 2020 Cake Contest on Instagram!
