While DC is beautiful year round, I especially loved seeing all the greenery come back at this Spring DC engagement session. We explored two locations for Ali and Evan’s session. We started off at sunrise at the Lincoln Memorial, and then we headed over to Theodore Roosevelt Island. The morning gave us beautiful light and cool weather. If you’re local to DC – you know how thankful we were that the cooler temperatures held off the cicadas for a few more days!
Ali and Evan met at work, but timing didn’t work out for quite a while. Then, everything changed in 2018 for the couple, and they decided to give things a go! They have been together ever since and have had a blast together. Ali describes Evan as organized and kind. Evan jokes that he knew they were a good match when during quarantine he didn’t annoy her, and that he feels like he can be himself around Ali. The couple have two dogs together, Leia and Poddy. They are the couple’s fur babies, and will definitely be involved in wedding day festivities.
The couple love spending time together with their fur babies, and enjoying Mexican take out or steak dinners. Throughout their engagement they have had to overcome the uncertainties surrounding COVID and having to skip in person wedding celebrations. But the couple has been able to press forward and celebrate their love together with the people they love most.
No matter what life has thrown their way during their pandemic engagement, Ali and Evan have come out on top and celebrated with love and grace. I can’t wait for their wedding at Shadow Creek this coming November!
