Francesca and Grant chose Irvine Estate for their Lexington engagement session. Being able to host their session at a venue meant we had an easy place for their outfit change and to get refreshed between sessions. Plus, had the weather worked out, we would have been able to stay for night portraits under the starry skies (unfortunately we encountered cloudy skies that night – hopefully next time though!).
Adjacent to Irvine Estate is House Mountain Inn, which is actually the same place they’ll be celebrating their wedding in a year’s time! Knowing how much they loved the mountain views and foliage at this unique location, they wanted to enjoy their engagement session there as well. There are often so many picturesque areas at beautiful wedding venues like this. So it’s actually very easy to have different photos and looks between an engagement session and wedding day. Plus, then we can make note of any favorite spots you want to go back to for your wedding day portraits!
As you might guess, this DC couple absolutely loves the outdoors. They shared their first date at The Wharf in DC, and even got engaged there! I love how easily Francesca and Grant laugh around each other. You can see how easy-going they are throughout their Lexington engagement session. We spent almost 2 hours walking the grounds and taking in the beautiful mountain views. Francesca and Grant chose this area for the breathtaking view, so showing it off was a must!
Even early fall in Lexington is just beautiful. The lush greenery and tall trees were a gorgeous backdrop to their engagement session. We’re so excited to celebrate with this sweet couple at their wedding day as well in a few months! Keep scrolling to see why these two adjacent venues, House Mountain Inn & Irvine Estate, are easily amongst our favorite natural locations for engagement sessions and weddings alike.
