Spring Ravens Roost Engagement Session // Charlottesville, VA

Ida and Travis’ spring Ravens Roost engagement session was the perfect way to celebrate the joy of their engagement! Although they didn’t have any specific photo goals for their session, they knew they wanted to document the joy of their engagement and start planning ahead of their wedding website and save the dates. Knowing they were moving to DC soon, they were also excited to include Charlottesville’s iconic mountain views.

This sweet couple actually spent the first few years of their relationship apart. These two met while studying abroad in Istanbul and didn’t even dream at the time they would stay connected when Ida went back to California and Travis went back here to Virginia. But their connection continued over the years and brought them back together after undergrad when they both secured jobs in the Middle East. Travis then followed Ida back to Virginia once she started law school at UVA. But Travis even said, after 2 weeks, he just knew. So it was no surprise to him that after five and half years of dating, getting engaged was the next step for them!

We started their engagement session at Humpback Visitor’s center, and then ventured off to Ravens Roost. I love being able to help my couples feel comfortable and confident anytime they’re in front of my camera, and these two were incredible! Ida had her makeup done by Gohar of Gohar Make-Up for their spring Ravens Roost engagement session. The subtle natural look they went for suited Ida perfectly – she looks so stunning!

Being local, they came to my studio the next day for their Reveal Session. When Ida came in, she said they had such a great experience that they wouldn’t have even cared if the photos somehow got lost – but don’t worry, we have them!
