Katlan and Ross’s wedding at The Renaissance was a long-awaited celebration with family and friends! Jess was the lead photographer for this sweet couple. They celebrated their engagement with me at Belle Isle last summer, and also their legal marriage a year prior at the same venue. Although I would have loved to celebrate with them again, Jess did such an amazing job capturing the joy of their anniversary celebration!
In planning the big wedding, Katlan and Ross focused on creating memorable moments they would look back on for the rest of their lives. This included family heirlooms, first looks, and spending as much time as possible celebrating with their closest friends and family. Any Richmond locals know how unpredictable Virginia weather can be year round, and especially in November. It ended up being incredibly windy and quite chilly that day. So planning to keep everything indoors was definitely a great planning move. The Renaissance’s large ballroom spaces were the perfect backdrop for bringing together their vision for the day!
The couple chose to share a private first look together. Katlan and Ross were full of emotion seeing one another for the first time on their big day. Even though they were already married, Katlan was tearing up all over again! After an emotional first look, we focused on getting their wedding party and family formals done. This keeps the cocktail hour stress-free since we only had a handful of extended family formals to finish up.
At the ceremony, Katlan’s father walked her down the aisle in the Renaissance’s Adams Room before stepping in to officiate the ceremony as well. Once Katlan and Ross said, “I do!”, it was time for their Renaissance wedding reception to begin. The night was filled with laugh-inducing toasts, emotional first dances, and a stunning chocolate cake. Keep scrolling to see more from this gorgeous Richmond wedding!
